Throughout his career, Garreth has honed his skills in communication, monitoring and liaison, and implements them with care and intelligence. One of his core skills as an engineer is in identifying potential design risks to a project and spotting opportunities that add value for his clients. He believes strongly in lean design and the simplification of complex builds in order to deliver technical excellence on client projects.
His experience covers a range of sectors including residential, BTR/PRS, PBSA, commercial, education, heavy retrofit and low carbon repurposing of existing structures. Having joined as a graduate, Garreth is the youngest ever director in the history of Walsh; the Social Value lead for the company; and he strongly believes in nurturing the kind of happy and harmonious team environment that allows engineers to thrive.
Garreth is an avid Newcastle football fan. He has two daughters and enjoys spending time with his family, running (including completing the London Marathon in 2023), golf, gardening, cooking and fine wines.
