Walsh has a keen interest in providing a value engineered product to our clients. This is to help our clients obtain the best possible tender returns for the foundations, substructure and superstructure elements of the build without compromising the wider design team goals and principles.
We recognise that early engagement with the team and appraisal of differing structural solutions helps set the fundamentals of the design on an economic and sustainable basis from which the team can build viable development proposals. As the plans develop in those early stages, Walsh will guide the team towards maintaining viable buildable solutions. This will be via sketch proposal and evaluation of alternative solutions. It is at these stages which the creativity, ingenuity and skill of our engineers gives real value to the design process.

Sustainability is in our DNA and we have our own ambitious goals to achieve Net Zero as a business and with our designs. With innovative in-house monitoring tools, Walsh clients have seen on average reductions of 10-20% total embodied carbon, with some of our flagship work achieving 60-70% reductions compared with baseline figures.
