Walsh were appointed to lead the engineering efforts for this 1.95-hectare brownfield site, taking the project from Stage 3 onwards. The site, which featured a challenging 4m slope from south to north, required meticulous consideration of the adjacent Network Rail line to the south.
Our scope included the structural and sitewide civil works, all delivered within a condensed six-month program. This included securing party wall agreements with neighbouring properties and producing all required drawings and reinforced concrete (RC) details to achieve Construction Issue (CONDOC) on schedule.
The development comprised 13 buildings ranging from 3 to 10 storeys, providing 341 residential units, a 303 sqm single-storey D1 unit, car parking facilities, private and communal amenity areas, and play spaces. The design significantly enhanced the local area, improving the public realm and connectivity throughout the site.
The construction utilised a combination of reinforced concrete (RC) frames and traditional build techniques for apartment blocks, a steel-frame nursery building, and traditionally built townhouses. Through expert engineering and collaborative problem-solving, we ensured the project was delivered efficiently and to the highest standards, aligning with the clientās vision and tight program constraints.
