Wates Kicks-Off Walsh’s ‘Women in Construction’ Seminar Programme

Last week, we had the pleasure of being visited by Paula Chandler, Christine Sillis and Yves Adelbrecht of Wates for an enlightening talk about embracing equality in the construction industry and the kinds of inclusive recruitment that Wates has in place to encourage this.

It’s no secret that construction is a largely male-dominated industry so, as a part of our diversity and inclusion initiatives at Walsh, this is the first in a series of presentations from senior women in construction that we have commissioned to inspire all of our team.

The honest insights and career stories that Paula and Christine shared, along with their commitment to working hard every day to help make our industry more inclusive were incredibly inspiring.

Thanks so much to Wates for sharing their time and experiences with us. It has already empowered many of our female AND male colleagues to take advantage of the flexible working arrangements that Walsh offers, making small changes that will improve their work-life balance.

It’s great to be working with a partner like Wates to drive change in the construction industry by creating supportive, diverse and, of course, happy teams!
