Event: “Katherine Evans is as Bold as Brass” — join Walsh as we celebrate International Women in Engineering Day 2024

Join us for an evening of networking and discussion, featuring special guest speaker, Katherine Evans, an award-winning women’s equity consultant and mining geologist, known for her work in confronting gender bias

“Katherine Evans is as Bold as Brass”

An engineer specialising in subsurface and mineral extraction, Katherine has witnessed first hand the stark and contrasting experiences, attitude towards safety, and career journeys between men and women in her field.

The founder of Bold as Brass, which amplifies the voices of advocacy, Katherine campaigns for women’s protection in safety-critical workplaces, and offers members access to free career coaching.

Advising organisations with locating inequity and tracking down provision to level it out, she breaks down barriers by also supporting their workforce to reach their ah-ha moment providing talks, presentations, and training.

A powerhouse in the PPE industry, Katherine ensures gear is not just protective but inclusive. She is also the mental health and wellbeing chair for the Quarries National Joint Advisory Committees (QNJAC).

Get ready for Katherine’s unique take on ‘Enhanced by Engineering’, the theme for #INWED24

She’ll share her experiences on:

  • the moment when she realized her voice could spark change
  • why bringing men into allyship is key for progress in gender equality
  • how shaking up norms can revolutionize workplace culture
  • and much more
